Jose Hernandez, 64, beloved husband of Brunilda Hernandez, passed away on Thursday January 18th, 2018 due to complications after a long, courageous battle with diabetes.  Jose was born on September 19, 1953 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and was the son of the late Gregorio Hernandez, and Teresa Lorenzo.

In addition to his cherished wife Brunilda of 42 years, he is survived by his two sons Jose Hernandez and Jesrael Hernandez, both of Haverhill, MA. Jose came from a large family, with 1 brother Gregorio Hernandez, of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and 6 sisters; Nayda Hernandez, of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, Santa Hernandez of Haverhill, MA., Maria Hernandez of Haverhill, MA., Marta Hernandez of Haverhill, MA., Elsie Hernandez of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and Maria-Antonia Hernandez of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Jose is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

After graduating high school at Jose de Diego High School in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, Jose was employed for many years as a Mental Health Administrator, responsible for the many patient phone calls and appointments they would need to ensure their proper care. Jose enjoyed travelling with his wife Brunilda, even if it was just a ride around town, he loved to be out and about. An avid sports fan, Jose loved his New England teams, and watched the games with his family while enjoying his favorite Subway teriyaki sandwich! A simple, happy man, he adored his grandchildren, and loved spending time with them.
