Atkinson, NH: John M. Wolters, 88, a resident of Atkinson for over twenty years, died Saturday, May 25, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born in Bay Ridge , NY, the son of the late John M. Wolters and the late Frances (Cacase) (Wolters) Playford, he graduated from New York University with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. A successful entrepreneur, Mr. Wolters was a national merchandising manager for Marshalls and later became a real estate developer, a general contractor and a Certified Financial Planner.

A former resident of Windham before moving to Atkinson, Mr. Wolters also enjoyed spending the winter months in Arizona. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and served on the Condominium Association Board where he lived and the Atkinson Planning Board for several years.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Joan (Winkler) Wolters,  three sons, John M. Wolters III, of Windham, Gregory Wolters of Atkinson, and Keith Wolters and his wife Michele of Atkinson; a brother Robert Wolters of Ronkonkoma, NY, a sister Patricia Grimmer of North Carolina, and two grandchildren, Hunter and Haley.

Relatives and friends are invited to a calling hour on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. His funeral will follow at 11:15 a.m. in the funeral home with burial in Atkinson Cemetery.
