Haverhill: John P. Urbalonis, 58 of Haverhill, and formerly of Alton, NH died on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill after being stricken near his home in Haverhill.
John was born and educated in Haverhill, son of the late Bronislaus and Barbara (Kancevitch) Urbalonis. After completing high school he established his own business, J's Aquarium, a local pet store that he owned and operated for several years. Later he moved to Alton, NH to raise his family and worked as a general contractor building cabins and docks on Lake Winnipesaukee. He enjoyed swimming and boating at the Lake.
He recently relocated back "home" where he enjoyed listening to the radio, taking long walks, and visits with his sister and her family.
John is survived by his three children, William, Jonathan, and Nicole Urbalonis. He also leaves behind his loving sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Stephen Gorski of Plaistow, NH, nephews, Alex Gorski of New York City, and Zachary Gorski of Dover, his aunt, Eleanor Hutchinson of Florida, and several cousins.
Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 12:30 to 2:45 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow Village, NH. His funeral service will follow on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. A private family burial service will take place at a later date in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Haverhill.
