Obituary

Haverhill: John Randall, 78, of Haverhill, died peacefully at his home on January 13, 2021.

Born in Bridgeport, CT, son of the late Maurice and Evelyn (Poirier) Randall, he was raised and educated in Madison, Maine. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1964, serving as a Specialist 4, and was a recipient of the Expert Badge for rifles. He was honorably discharged in 1966 and transferred to the Army Reserves until his final discharge in 1970.

John was employed as a dairy farm laborer for much of his work life at several farms including Meredith Farm and Alfalfa Farm in Topsfield, and Woodsom Farm in Amesbury. Eventually, he established a landscaping business with his partner to form John's Landscaping and was involved in that business until his retirement.

John enjoyed being part of a large group of friends and spending lots of his time outdoors. He looked forward to attending the Fryeburg Fair and other New England fairs every year. He was very self-sufficient and was always able to figure out how to get things done. His favorite saying in life was "up and around and able to take nourishment".

John was predeceased in 2020 by his longtime, loving partner Laurie Kotis and was also predeceased by his grandson, David N. Houghton, who died in 2016.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by a son and daughter-in-law, Mark J. and Amy Randall of Seabrook, NH, a daughter, Stacy Randall of Fremont, grand-daughters, Sophia D. Randall of Seabrook and Blythe Denoncour of Epping and a great grand-daughter, Brynleigh Denoncour of Epping.  He is also survived by Laurie's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tammy L. Malone and husband Paul, Robert F. DeCoito, Tina M. O'Connor and husband Patrick, Tanya Elliott-Hannon and significant other Joseph Hannon and Theresa D. Appleton; grandchildren Christopher Malone and wife Kelly, Timothy Malone and wife Timisha, Stephen, Mathew and Landon DeCoito, Jack and Molly O'Connor, Kassandra Elliott, Katelynn and Karissa Hannon, Jonathan and Katherine Appleton; great-grandchildren Cayson and Jaxson Malone.
