Danville – John T. Petrillo aka "Whopper" 60, passed away on December 26, 2021 at Exeter Hospital following his battle with Covid-19.
Born January 27, 1961 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was raised and educated in East Boston/Winthrop and was a graduate of St. Dominic Savio High School class of 1978. He worked as an electrician for over forty years, the last several years was at Lowell Central Electric where he was also part of the Market Basket team, he considered both of the companies as his second family.
Whopper is survived by his Mother, Marie (McCarthy) Fields and her husband, Bob Fields of Danville, his wife of 34 years, Patty Petrillo of Winthrop, Ma; two daughters, Alyssa Ashby and her husband, of Huntsville, Al and Jessica Petrillo of Danville; two sons, J. T. Petrillo and his fiancé, Kelley Whitney of West Newbury, Ma and Eric Petrillo and his significant other, Taryn Merrill; four grandchildren, Chloe Petrillo, Kaylie Petrillo, Tristan Ashby and Lilah Petrillo.
Whopper had a passion for sports that he shared with those he loved. He cheered his children on through their wrestling, volleyball, baseball, track, football and softball games. He was a member of the Danville youth leagues for many years and assisted in coaching the Timberlane Football team and volunteered to coach the Danville girl's youth league. Whopper was also a devout New England Sports fan and played in several softball leagues throughout New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He had a love for golf and received awards and helped out with charities with his son and friends. Above all, spending time with family and friends was most important to him.
A Celebration of his life will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers or donations, the family requests those who haven't, to receive the Covid-19 shot in his honor.
