Obituary

John A. Paszko, 90, a resident of Haverhill for most of his life, died August 5, 2019 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.

Born in Haverhill, son of the late John and Franceska (Ryczko) Paszko, he attended Haverhill Public Schools including Haverhill High School and the former Haverhill Trade School, graduating in 1947.

Mr. Paszko was an auto mechanic and owned and operated several businesses in the Haverhill area. He later went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree from Fitchburg State College. Mr. Paszko worked as an instructor and teacher for twelve years at Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational and Technical High School and then for thirteen years at Whittier Regional Vocational and Technical High School.

A member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the former Saint Michael's Parish, he enjoyed restoring old cars, especially classic sports cars, and had an avid interest in the history of Haverhill. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox as well as the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of sixty-five years, Nancy A. (Yaylian) Paszko, a daughter, Karen M. Paszko and her husband, David Hampel of Lansdowne, PA, a son, Jeffrey M. Paszko of Haverhill, two brothers, Walter Paszko of Haverhill and Stanley Paszko of Haverhill and formerly of Port Charlotte, FL, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Veronica Paszko and Doris Clement, and four brothers, Joseph Paszko, Zigmund Paszko, Michael Paszko and William Paszko.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, August 8, 2019, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral will be held on Friday Morning, August 9, 2019, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis TN.
