Obituary

Newton, NH: John "Jack" Monfet, 80, passed away on July 23, 2020 surrounded by his family, following a lengthy illness.

Jack was born at home on Farley Street in Methuen to the late Edward E. and Rose A. (DeOrio) Monfet. He was a 1958 graduate of Tenney High school, and also attended Lowell Tech.

At a young age, Jack began working at local farms in Pleasant Valley, Methuen. From the farms, he worked at Flavor Fresh in Lawrence MA. He was then employed at Western Electric until its closing and finally worked at Fantini until his retirement.

Jack enjoyed bowling, playing the horses and dogs, golfing, playing 45's, and fishing with his grandsons and longtime childhood friend, Mike DeNuzzio. Most of all, his greatest enjoyment was being with his family.

Predeceased by his wife, Francine (Bisson), whom they shared 30 years of marriage, Jack leaves behind his adoring and caring daughter, Lisa Kane and her husband John of Newton, NH, a son, Tony and wife Pamela (Larnard) King of Salisbury, MA, His grandchildren, Justin Kane, Sean Kane, Bryan Kane, Jessica Soucy, Matthew King, Nathan King and his great grandson, Aidan Soucy.

Jack also leaves behind his sister, Elaine and her husband Peter "Mike" Bergeron of Salem, NH, his sister-in-law, Nita (Buxton) Monfet of Merrimac, MA, his cousins, Richard Belluardo and his wife Francine of Methuen, MA. Jack also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Jack was also predeceased by his brother William Monfet of Lawrence, MA and his brother Robert Monfet of Merrimac, MA.

Calling hours for Mr. Monfret will be from 5 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday July 29, 2020, at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.
