Sandown, NH: John F. Millett, Jr., 83, of Sandown and formerly of Seabrook, NH and Haverhill, MA, died Monday, December 3, 2018, at Colonial Poplin Nursing Home in Fremont.
Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, Massachusetts, son of the late John F. and Cora (White) Millett, he attended Haverhill High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He attended Saint Anne's Church of Hampstead and was a Friend of Bill for forty-six years.
Mr. Millett was employed as a truck driver for local transportation companies, and also as a sheet metal fabricator for Foss Manufacturing and as an operations manager at Lido Gas and Oil Co. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed fishing and hunting and was also an accomplished self-taught musician, proficient at keyboard, mandolin and banjo.
Predeceased by his wife Helen (Schrieber) Millett and former wife Elaine (Dodier) Millett, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Millett Of Hampstead, Joanne Lavoie of Sandown, Donna and Walter Shackley of Danville, and Sally and Tito Wilkins of Manchester, a daughter-in-law Deborah Millett of Plaistow, sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his son Paul Millett, son-in-law Jack Lavoie, his brother Paul and his sisters Joanne and Dorothy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours and Life Celebration to be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow. His funeral will begin on Thursday morning at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Anne's Church, Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH.
