East Hampstead: John J. Fyfe, 59, of East Hampstead, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, October 11, 2020, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Melrose, Massachusetts, son of the late William and Geraldine (Moore) Fyfe, he was raised primarily and educated in North Andover, graduating from North Andover High School with the Class of 1979. He later received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Fitchburg State College. John has been working for many years as a self-employed agent for Mercer Transportation LLC.
Devoted to his wife and children, he was an avid boater and enjoyed piloting his twenty four foot Maxum from Goodwin's Creek Marina, down the Merrimack River or out into the ocean. He had a great appreciation for music, especially the Blues and enjoyed golfing with friends at Granite Fields and downhill skiing.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife of thirty-three years, Susan (Chamberland) Fyfe, a son Eric A. Fyfe of East Hampstead and a daughter Lauren J. Fyfe of Andover, Maine, four brothers, William A. Fyfe, Jr. and his wife Marlene of Tyngsboro, MA, Douglas B. Fyfe and his wife Cheryl of Pelham, NH, Bradford S. Fyfe and his wife Lisa of Bennington, NH, and Edward M. Fyfe of Litchfield, NH, a brother-in-law, Stephen Isherwood of Newton, NH, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Francis and Jacqueline Chamberland of Chicopee, MA, sister-in-law Lori Main and her husband Jason, of Fiskdale, MA, and brother-in-law, Glenn Chamberland and his wife Susan of Agawam, MA and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Joanne (Fyfe) Isherwood.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's calling hours to be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, under the guidelines of the State of New Hampshire for social distancing and the wearing of masks. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home under the same guidelines and followed by burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampstead, NH. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence, MA, or the Oncology Department of Exeter Hospital, 5 Alumni Drive, Exeter, NH.
