Atkinson, NH:  John W. Ford, 67, of Atkinson, NH died on January 24, 2020 at his home from natural causes.

Born in Methuen, MA, the son of the late Herbert and Mae (Utley) Ford, he was raised and educated in Methuen.  He attended Tenney High School, graduating with the Class of 1970, where he was a tri-sport athlete, lettering in football, baseball and basketball.  John was voted "Athlete of the Year" by the Eagle Tribune in 1970.  He also attended Lowell Technical Institute where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Business and where again, he played varsity baseball and basketball.  He worked in footwear sales as a Manufacturing Representative for Sperry, Sebago and Converse Shoes.

John loved life and was very "health conscious" and athletic.  He enjoyed hiking and skiing and was a Ski Instructor at Mt. Cranmore.  He was an original member of the Cedardale Health and Fitness Club and a member of their tennis team and was also a basketball coach for three years in Denmark.

John will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son, Travis R. Ford of Atkinson, NH and his girlfriend, Samantha Farrell of Hampstead, NH; a brother, Robert Ford of Methuen, MA; a sister, Nancy (Ford) Szen of Hilton Head, SC and his former wife, Ann West.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 4 to 6:30 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.  A Service of Remembrance will follow at 6:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory can be made to a memorial fund for the benefit of Travis Ford and may be sent c/o of Maryellen Fennessy Mcdermott, 294 Harbor Road, Rye, NH 03870.
