John A. Dusombre, 68, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died Friday, November 2, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his loving family and following a long illness.



Son of the late Omer and Marguerite (Belanger) Dusombre, he was educated in the Haverhill Public School System and attended the former Haverhill Trade School.



Mr. Dusombre was most recently employed in the security field and also worked previously in property management and maintenance and formerly worked as a self employed carpenter and a mechanic. He also formerly served for several years as a constable for the City of Haverhill.



A member of the former Saint Joseph Parish, Mr.Dusombre enjoyed his camp at Hidden Valley Campground, Derry, Ten-Pin Bowling and golfing and playing softball in the Haverhill Men's League. For several years he helped to manage the Haverhill Girls Softball League, serving as President, coach and umpire.



He is survived by his wife Rita (Cunningham) Dusombre, daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Robert Hannafin of Winthrop , Lynn Dusombre of Haverhill and Johanna and Joseph Metthe of Danville, NH, step children and their spouses, Karen (Belanger) and Gregory Sargent of West Brookfield, VT, Michelle (Belanger) McCarthy of Haverhill, and Joseph and Teresa Belanger of Haverhill, brothers and sisters-in-law, Leonel Dusombre of North Londonderry, NH, Frederick and Judy Dusombre of Plaistow, NH, Richard and Donna Dusombre of Haverhill, Robert and Linda Dusombre of Seabrook, NH, and Gilbert and Kathy Dusombre of Haverhill, sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and James Daneau of Haverhill, Helen and Arthur St. Cyr of Haverhill, Sally Hardy of Seabrook, Janet and Emile Langlois of Haverhill and Peggy Murrey of Washington, also twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren and his dog, "Nicky". He was predeceased by two sisters, Catherine Descoteaux and Marjorie Chadwick.



Relatives and friends may call on Monday, November 5, 2012, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at BERUBE-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Route 97, Haverhill. His funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
