IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Barry
Dube, Sr.
January 8, 1936 – December 11, 2021
John Barry Dube, Sr ., age 85, of East Hampstead, NH, passed away on 12/11/21.
John "Barry" Dube, Sr. was the beloved husband of Mildred J. Dube, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Born in Lawrence, Ma., he was the son of Wilfred and Juliet (Robidoux) Dube. He grew up in West Andover, Mass., and Salem, New Hampshire where he attended Woodbury High School. He entered the US Marine Corps at age 17 at Paris Island and was honorably discharged as a disabled veteran. He often spoke of his military experiences and actively supported Veterans and Marine Corps causes and loved his country.
As a young adult, he was an accomplished athlete and semi-professional bowler, and enjoyed singing. His professional career included working as a management consultant and as lover of the outdoors, he was employed by Harold Parker State Forrest for many years. He retired from the State DPW.
John's greatest desire was to be a father and an incredible dad he was to four children who adored him. He often became 'dad' to many of his children's friends, always welcoming you into his home as if you were one of his own.
He was a man of much love, enormous generosity, kindness and a tender heart of gold. He donated to many charities on a regular basis and always considered those less fortunate. He avidly supported indigenous charities and was proud of his Native American heritage.
John loved the outdoors and nature, and in his later years spent much time outside caring for his property, tending to his bird feeders while listening to music, which he adored. He often said that music moved his heart and gave him peace. He loved animals, nature and God's creation, which he often wrote about in prose and poetry. He was a gifted writer and shared his publications with many family and friends.
His sense of humor always made his family laugh and he was often funny while not even trying to be. It brought him great joy to make people smile. He had an incredible memory and often would share information, knowledge and stories about any subject you brought up in a conversation. He was nostalgic, cherished tradition and the holidays with family, and creating lasting memories.
John was incredibly proud of his family who are even more proud of the man he was and the legacy of love and compassion he leaves to the many hearts he touched.
He will be greatly missed by his family; wife Mildred Dube of East Hampstead, NH.; daughter Dawn Dube of Exeter, NH; son John Dube, Jr., his wife Eileen of Plaistow, NH and their son Conor (and the late Evan Dube); daughter Lynda Dube Sadler, her husband Anthony Sadler of Carlisle, PA. and their sons Jaedon John Sadler and Zachary Perkins (and wife Megan); son David Dube and his wife Maricar of Plaistow, NH and their daughter Madeleine; and great-grandchildren Desiree, John and Casey Perkins
"I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."
