John P. Cunningham, 75, a resident of Bedford, MA and formally of Haverhill, MA, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at the VA hospital & hospice in Bedford, MA. He was the beloved husband of the late Beverly (Carroll) Cunningham.

He was born in Exeter, NH on June 7, 1951 and was the son of the late Lawrence and Yvonne (Proulx) Cunningham. John was raised and educated in Haverhill, MA and attended Haverhill Trade school. He proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Army for five years and one year in the Army National Guard. John was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed hockey, bowling and bingo.

John is survived by his children Stephen Carroll of Haverhill, MA, and Tiffany DiPietro and her husband of Matthew of Arizona, his grandchildren Colby and Dylan Carroll, his siblings Mark Cunningham and his partner Gary MacDonald of Haverhill, MA, Geneva Cunningham of Lowell, MA, Dennis Cunningham and his wife Bernadette of Norwood, MA, Leon Cunningham, Rosemary Chabot of Vassalboro, ME, Yvonne Tracy and her husband Richard of East Hampstead, NH, Linda Fuller of Vassalboro, ME, Priscilla Williams of Haverhill, MA, and Joyce Ellenwood of Florida.

He was sadly predeceased by his son John P. “Boba” Cunningham Jr., and his siblings Rita Dusombre, Kevin Cunningham and Marie Hartford.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 4pm – 6pm at the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH. A funeral service will follow at 6pm in the funeral home chapel. His interment will be held at a later date.
