Sandown, NH: John V. Carlson, 76, of Sandown, NH, formerly of Lynn, MA, died on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Parkland Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late John V. and Ellen (Barrett) Carlson and attended the area schools. He was a licensed HVAC technician which he enjoyed doing for over ten years.
With his warm, welcoming personality and great sense of humor, John was known as "the entertainment". He enjoyed many activities like going to classic car shows, sailing, and birds of prey. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren and great grandchildren. And in more recent years he would be at Heav'nly Donuts every day to meet with his pals.
John will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sons, Johnny Carlson and his wife Vickie of Salem, MA, Matthew Carlson of Lynn, MA, daughter, Jodi Savoia and her husband Carl of Sandown, NH, son-in-law, Mark Carter of Hampton, NH, sister, Eleanor Hanlon of Wayland, MA, twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife of forty-four years, Donna (Haskell) Carlson, daughter, Christine Carter, brother, James Carlson, and sister, Elizabeth Lebedew.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His Funeral Service will be on Thursday, February 27, at 10:30 AM from the funeral home. Burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Boston St., Lynn, MA. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in John's memory to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St , Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701.
