The Villages, FL:  John "Soupy" Campbell, born February 19, 1942 in Bridgeport CT, son of John C. Campbell and Dorothea M. Bailie, passed away peacefully at his home in The Villages, FL on Monday, February 19 ^th , his 76 ^th birthday, from complications of Multiple Symptoms Atrophy, a rare form of Parkinson's Disease.

John was raised in Haverhill, MA and attended Haverhill public schools. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School and earned his Associate Degree from Merrimack College, North Andover, MA. John served in the US Military/ National Guard with the Army Corp of Engineering, located in Haverhill, MA.

John worked for Western Electric, AT&T and Alcatel Lucent for 43 years and retired as a Quality Control supervisor in 2001. After retiring, John worked for the Breakfast Hill Golf Course in Greenland, NH.

He was an avid golfer and earned his black belt in Karate.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine (Carter/Demeritt) Campbell, three children, Jodi Surridge, Salisbury, MA, John David, Haverhill, MA and Shana Olofson, Nottingham, NH and one step son, Ryan Demeritt, Seabrook, NH, his sister Sandra Parsons, Woodstock, GA , and five grandchildren.

For the past six years, John and his wife have been living in The Villages, FL.

Calling hours will be Thursday, April 12 ^th at the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon. A memorial service will follow at 12:15 PM.
