Haverhill: John J. "Jay" Bourassa, 61, of Haverhill and formerly of Methuen, died in Haverhill, on January16, 2025, four days before his sixty-second birthday.
Born in Methuen, son of the late Robert and Mary (Brindle) Bourassa, and was raised in the Methuen home of his loving foster parents, Edwin and Ann Azevedo and their three daughters.
Jay graduated from Methuen High School and worked for many years in several capacities at the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune, and later as an aid in a Lawrence area group home. He enjoyed trips to the beach and trying his luck on scratch tickets.
He is survived by a sister, Maureen Bourassa, of Lawrence, and twin sisters Joyce Bourassa and Donna Gagnon, both of Newton, NH. several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his Azevedo foster sisters, Lynne, Gail and Donna and other foster siblings.
A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
