John W. "Bill" Cross Jr, 78, a resident of Hampton, NH, died on Monday, February 24, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Pauline (Vallee) Cross.

He was born in Haverhill, MA on April 2, 1946 and was the son of the late John W. Sr. and Viola D. (Poland) Cross. Bill was raised and educated in Haverhill and was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1964. He was a skilled licensed Master Electrician. Bill served his community as an Officer with the Hampton, NH Police Department for 33 years, and was also a NH State Police Trooper for 17 years. He was employed at Fidelity Investments as a project manager for 30 years. Bill retired from Hearst Television as a Broadcast Engineer. He was also licensed as a private pilot. Bill enjoyed traveling throughout the US and Europe. He worked at some point in every state in the U.S except Alaska and North Dakota. Bill was truly well traveled. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Anne's Parish in Hampstead, NH.

Besides his wife Bill is survived by his sons John W. Cross and his wife Karen of Atlanta, Georgia, and Joseph R. Cross and his wife Julie of Hampton, NH, his grandchildren Nicole Wellman and her husband Christian, Zachary Cross, Abigail Cross, and Alison Cross, his great-grandson William Wellman, his sister Jo-Ann Mayo and several nieces and nephews.

He was sadly predeceased by his sister Mary Vincent.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 4pm – 7pm at the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will begin at the funeral home on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 9:30am. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30am at St. Anne's Parish Hampstead, NH. Interment will be held privately.
