Joel P. Saren, 85, of East Hampstead died on September 27, 2024 at Villa Crest Nursing Home in Manchester, NH. He was the husband of Linda (Lenik) Saren with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.
He was born and raised in New York and was a graduate of Levittown High School in Levittown, NY. After high school Joel proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Marines. Joel was an award-winning photographer while in the Marines. He owned and operated Atomic Letter Service for many years in Nashua, NH. Joel was later employed at the Digital Corporation as a computer programmer and project manager. After earning a master's degree in human services at Springfield College, Joel took a position as an adjunct professor. He taught economics at Endicott College in Beverly, MA. Joel was a member of the Jaycees, the Rotary Club of Nashua, NH, Nashua actor/singers, and the Merrimac Valley Umpire's Association. He enjoyed fishing, Broadway shows, and baseball, he held season tickets to Fenway Park for over 40 years. Joel most especially enjoyed the time spent with his family.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Jodi Case of Boston, Jeffrey Saren of Chartley, MA, and Ben Saren and his wife Ali of Amsterdam, his grandchildren Jenica Saren, Kyle Saren, Jimmy Case and Jaxon Saren, his great-grandson Ryder Denman, his brother Allan Saren of Long Island, NY, and many nieces and nephews.
He was sadly predeceased by his daughter Alison Saren and his sister Shelley Saren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life to be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 3pm at the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org.
