JoAnn Lena Pinto (DeFeo), born on June 19, 1931, in Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, in Haverhill, Massachusetts. She was 95 years old.

JoAnn was the daughter of the late Marie DeFeo (Pellerin). She spent much of her working life at Western Electric, where she worked as a process checker / layout operator.

She enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially gardening and doing tree work. JoAnn will be remembered for her love of bike riding, reading, swimming, and spending time at the beach with all of her family. She divided her time between her home in Kingston, NH and in Heathrow, FL.

JoAnn is survived by her two sons, Michael Pinto and his wife, Judith, of Kingston, New Hampshire, and Richard Pinto and his wife, Ann of Newbury, Massachusetts; her sister, Marilyn Johnson of Hampton, New Hampshire; her granddaughter, Rachel Carty; her great-grandchildren, Aisha, Isaiah, and Jordan; and her great-great-grandson, Jerimiah. JoAnn also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, many of whom she had a role in raising.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph "Scoop" Pinto, who she missed very much. They were married for over 70 years and enjoyed family vacations and going to the beach.

JoAnn’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, strength, and presence will be deeply missed, and her family will carry forward the love and cherished memories she leaves behind.

Burial will be held privately at a later date.
