Joan R. (Weir) Canning, age 73 of East Hampstead, NH passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 5, 2016. She was born on October 23, 1942 in Lynn, MA the daughter of the late Russell and Minnie (Towne) Weir. She was raised and educated in Lynn. She had worked for many years as an assembler at Western Electric Company.
Christmas was her favorite time of the year, and she would always put the children first. She enjoyed travelling the country, and in the 1980's, she was able to see most of the United States. Her favorite trip was when she went to Hawaii to see Elvis Presley perform live in concert. Joan lived a full, happy and content life with her longtime partner, William Descoteaux. She loved to spend time with both her and William's grandchildren.
Joan is survived by her longtime partner, William Descoteaux of East Hampstead. Her son, Bill Canning and wife, Lee of Old Orchard Beach, ME. Her daughter, Darlene Cornetta and husband, Tony of Northwood, NH. Her loving grandchildren; Karissa, Joshua, Jacqueline and Catrina. William's loving grandchildren; Alex, A.J. and Kaylie. Several nieces and nephews also survive her. She was predeceased by her husband, George Canning in 1993. She was also predeceased by her brother, John Weir and her sister, Cynthia Bruno.
