Joan M. (Lagasse) Veroneau, 93, a resident of Plaistow, NH since 1956, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill, MA, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Veroneau.

She was born in Haverhill, MA on July 20, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Albert and Lillian (Everett) Lagasse. Joan was raised and educated in Haverhill, MA and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1953. She was employed as a salesclerk after her children were raised. Joan worked at Pentucket Shoe in Haverhill and Red’s Shoe Barn in Plaistow, NH. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at Holy Angels in Plaistow and the Haverhill Art Association. Joan enjoyed gardening, woodworking and art. Joan cherished summer vacations on Nantucket with her family.

Joan is survived by her sons Edward A. Veroneau and his wife Jillanne of Salem, NH, Peter A. Veroneau of Plaistow, NH, and Mitchell B. Veroneau and his wife Judith of Kingston, NH., her four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and her sister-in-law Marie Lagasse. She also leaves behind several special nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was sadly predeceased by her siblings George Lagasse, Everett Lagasse, James Lagasse, Joseph Lagasse, Rita Galvin and Marion Sullivan.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 4pm – 7pm at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will start at 9am on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 in the funeral home chapel. A funeral mass will follow at 10am at All Saints Parish, Haverhill, MA. Interment in Holy Angels cemetery.
