Obituary

Joan M. Pinksten, 78 died peacefully on Monday,  February 14 th at the High Pointe House in Haverhill, MA surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Joan was born in Boston, MA on July 15, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Salvatore Petricone and Barbara Russo. She received her education at Everett High school. Joan worked for Boston Medical as an office manager for many decades.

In her retirement years Joan married the love of her life Jim Pinksten and celebrated their love in Hawaii. They were avid square dancers and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. They spent 9 years together until his death in 2012.

Joan enjoyed bowling and was on a bowling league for many years. She also enjoyed playing dominos  with her very close friends. Most of all she just loved being with her family and adored her grandchildren and great granddaughter Anna. My mom will be forever remembered for her kind and generous spirit. She was loved by all that knew her.  Joan is survived by her Daughters, Donna Gabriel and her husband, Jim of Newburyport, MA , Michelle Mullins and her husband, Richard of Nashua, NH; Sisters, Karla Ficker and her husband, Kim of ME and Terry Walsh of MA. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Jenna, Allison, Ryan, Brooke, Emma, and Autumn and one great-grandchild, Anna.

Along with her parents she is predeceased by her loving husband, James Pinksten and her son, Robert Proto.

Her family would like to thank the Nurses and LNA's at the Parkland Medical Center for being so kind and caring to our mother. We would also like to show our deepest gratitude to the staff at High Pointe House. You treated our mother with such compassion at the end of her life.
