Plaistow, NH: Joan W. (Lovering) Maynard, 86, of Plaistow, NH and formerly of 22 Canobie Ave., Salem, NH, died on June 30, 2017 at the Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, MA.
Born in Malden, MA, the daughter of Warren and Marguerite (Alley) Lovering, she was educated in Salem, NH, graduating from Woodbury High School. She attended Bradford College in her later years obtaining a degree in music. She was employed as an organist and choir director at the Grace Christian Methodist Church, of Haverhill, MA, and also as a substitute music teacher for the Salem, NH School District. An accomplished musician she also worked as a substitute choir director and organist at several area churches and as a private teacher of piano and organ.
Mrs. Maynard was a member of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) and music and her family were her whole life.
The wife of the late Edward Maynard who died on July 16, 2016; she is survived by a son, Gary E. Maynard of Plaistow; five daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah L. Levine of Connecticut, Beverly D. and Michael Casey of Salem, Jane E. and Gene Parent of Salem, Tina M. Maynard of Littleton, MA and Gail E. and Dean Manemanus of Plaistow; a sister, Barbara Pearl of Florida; seventeen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, July 6, 2017, from 10 – 11 AM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:15 AM in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, MA.
