Obituary

Haverhill: Jeremiah F. Sullivan died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, December 24 th at home in Haverhill, MA at the age of 74.

Born in Lawrence, son of the late James and Barbara (Mallon) Sullivan he attended Lawrence public schools before moving to Methuen with his family.

Jeremiah is survived by his children, Shawn Patrick Sullivan and wife Njeri Mwangi Sullivan of Windsor, NH, Sheila Sullivan Kane and husband, Raymond Kane, Jr. of Bradford, MA., and James Sullivan of Felton, DE and grandchildren Shaun Michael and wife Kristen, Cassandra, Joseph, James Jeremiah, Jeremy, Lucas and Kendra, and sisters Dorothy Sullivan of Lawrence, MA, Ruth D'Urso and husband Steve of Hampton Beach, NH and Jane Sullivan of Lawrence, MA, as well as many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by sisters Kathleen Mambro of Haverhill and Barbara Kennedy of Amesbury.

His children remember him as a hard-working, loving father who overcame many obstacles in his lifetime and dedicated himself to being the best father and firefighter he could be. With perseverance, he accomplished his goal of becoming a firefighter, achieving Lieutenant Status and passing the Captain's exam during his 19-year career at the Methuen Fire Department. His family was most important to him and his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at BERUBE -Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill.
