Newton, NH; Jeni C. Malek 66, former resident of West Newbury, Massachusetts, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Exeter Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, daughter to the late John and Veronica (Corcoran) Coates, she was raised and educated in southern Massachusetts. Following graduation Jeni began her working career at Sylvania where she met the love of her life, David. She then went on to work for the Internal Revenue Service for several years and later found her love for home health care, caring for those with disabilities locally.

Jeni enjoying gardening and thrifting with friends and family. She also dabbled in selling some of her thrifted finds on E-Bay. She loved animals, especially, dogs. Above all, she loved God, her family, and her friends. Her faith was most important to her.

Jeni is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of forty-three years, David Malek of Newton; her daughter, Katherine Malek of Malden, MA; three brothers, Brett Williams of Ireland, Chris Coates of Providence, RI, and John Coates of the Philippines; two sisters, Maureen Horton of Rehoboth, MA and Mary Coates of Providence, RI and longtime best friend, Deborah MacDonald. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved golden retriever, Chester.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, December 5, 2022, from 10:00a.m. until 12 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will follow at 12:15 p.m. in the funeral home and conclude with burial in Holy Angels Cemetery, Plaistow. Flowers are encouraged as a tribute to Jeni's love of gardening.
