Obituary

Haverhill, MA: Jeannette E. (Poirier) Phinney, 83, of Haverhill, died and went on to be with her heavenly Father on June 16, 2021, joining her husband Richard, who preceded her in 1994.

Born, raised and educated in Haverhill on December 26, 1937, she graduated Haverhill High School with the Class of 1956. Traveling the world with her husband who served in the U.S. Navy for twenty years, they shared many wonderful experiences in several different regions of the United States as well as several countries overseas. Upon Richard's retirement from the service in 1975, they settled in San Angelo, Texas for many years before returning to New England to be near their large extended family.

A member of Sacred Hearts Parish, of Bradford and a former member of Saint Joseph Parish of Haverhill and Holy Angels Parish of Plaistow, Jeannette was a resident of Plaistow for twenty-five years until returning to Haverhill in 2012. She was employed locally as a stitcher at Brentwood Lounge Furniture Co. of Haverhill and most recently at Med-Tronics of Haverhill.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Michael Phinney and his wife, Lynda of Middleburg, Florida, and two daughters, Renee Mondor of Merrimack, NH and Sharon Michniewich of Portsmouth, NH, two brothers, Roland Poirier of Haverhill, Donald Poirier( Friar Dominic Poirier) of New York City,  two sisters, Irene Iuele and her husband, Frank of  Bradford, and Marie Ingalls and her husband, Donald of Hooksett, NH, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Helen (Boisselle) Poirier, brothers, Alfred Poirier, Jr. and his wife Alice, Henry Poirier, Paul Poirier and Norman Poirier, sisters, Eva Talarico and her husband, Frank and Lorraine Marino, a sister-in-law, Aline Poirier, a son-in-law, Jed Michniewich and a niece, Gail Krueger.

Mrs. Phinney was grateful to her two daughters, Renee and Sharon, who, without their assistance and love, she could not have gotten along alone in life. They went above and beyond to ensure her comfort in mind, body and spirit. She loves them both for caring for her these past several years.
