Haverhill: Jeannette M. (Ducharme) Bergeron, 99, a longtime resident of Haverhill, died November 1, 2020 at Hannah Duston Longterm Care Center.
Born in Racine, Province of Quebec, Canada, and daughter of the late Lucien and Marie Jeanne (Gelinas) Ducharme, she moved to the United States and settled with her family in St. Albans, Vermont, where she attended local schools.
Mrs. Bergeron moved to the Merrimack Valley area and found work as a housekeeper and seamstress and later was employed in the local shoe industry. She worked for many years at Western Electric Co. and AT&T Technologies until her retirement and was a member of the Communication Workers of America and the Telephone pioneers of America.
A resident of Haverhill since 1957 and member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the former Saint Joseph Parish, she was an avid reader, and also enjoyed playing cards, gardening and completing puzzles. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was noted for her blackberry jelly. She believed in keeping active to stay healthy and could be seen walking every day in downtown Haverhill until just a few years ago.
She was predeceased in 2000 by her husband Aurele J.Bergeron, and will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by a son Roger Y. Bergeron and his wife Susan of Haverhill, four daughters, Gisele Bergeron of Chichester, NH, Nicole Edwards .of Belleview, FL, Denise Perkins and her husband David of Beverly and Diane Bergeron of Newton, NH, a brother Conrad Ducharme of Cowansville, Quebec, Canada, seven grandchildren, Tracy Andersen, Michelle Clark, Kelly Currier, Kim Donegan, Jeffrey Perkins, Christopher Bergeron and his wife Denise, and Michael Bergeron and his wife Lindsey Rowe, eleven great grandchildren, Ashton Andersen and his wife Nadia, Cody Andersen, Jared Clark and his wife Jessica, Brittany Bye, Braydan Currier, Kristen Eberlain and her husband Ryan, Kalyn Donegan, Spencer Donegan, Blake T. Bergeron, Rylee M. Bergeron and Michael Bergeron, Jr., eight great-great-grandchildren, Atticus Andersen, Joshua Clark, Lucas Clark, Benjamin Clark, Aiden Bye, River Eberlain, Lawson Eberlain and Sutton Eberlain, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grand-daughter Katherine Currier, a son-in-law Everett Mitchell, brothers Camille, Roland, Leon, Edmond and Bruno Ducharme and a sister Lucille Bombardier.
A graveside burial service for Mrs. Bergeron will take place at a later date in Gibson Cemetery, Pelham, NH under the direction of Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill.
