October 16, 1945 – March 27, 2017
Sandown, NH: Jane M. (Chapman) Gariepy, R.N., age 71, a resident of Sandown since 2005 and a former resident of Plaistow and the Ward Hill section of Haverhill, died Monday morning, March 27, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in West Newbury, MA, daughter of the late Sydney and Helen (Cormier) Chapman, she was raised and educated in Haverhill, MA and graduated from Saint James High School. A graduate of the Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing, Mrs. Gariepy was employed as a Supervisor of the I.C.U at Lawrence General Hospital, the former Hale Hospital and Merrimack Valley Hospital. She later supervised the medical department at Raytheon and the I.R.S in Andover.
A former member of Saint John the Baptist Parish of Haverhill, she was also a member of the Massachusetts Nurses Association, a former member of the Sandown Lions Club and a member and Past-treasurer of the 60 Plus Club of Sandown. She enjoyed boating, fishing and camping in Maine.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty-two years, Albert L. Gariepy, three daughters, Barbara J. Gariepy and her boyfriend Stephan Woodsum of Haverhill, Carolyn J. O'Neil of Haverhill and Janet L. Peters and her partner Karen Jackson of Scarborough, Maine, two brothers, Kenneth Chapman of Kingston, NH, and Sidney Chapman of Greenville, S.C., a sister Jean (Chapman) Cotton of Haverhill, grandchildren Stephanie, Ryan, Haley, and Daniel, and a great-grand-daughter Emilee. She was also survived by her daughter/niece, Laurie LaRochelle and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Clifford Chapman.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will take place on Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by burial in Linwood Cemetery. The family requests the memorial donations be made to The 60 Plus Club, P.O.
