James J. Yurik, 88, a resident of East Kingston passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 29, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Elaine (Coddaire) Yurik with whom he enjoyed 61 years of marriage.

He was born in Irvington, NJ on January 16, 1935 and was the son of the late Martin J. and Julia M. (Hutlock) Yurik.

James was raised and attended school in New Jersey. He enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 18 proudly serving his country. James retired from his service after 20 years at the rank of Master Sergeant and skilled airplane mechanic. In later years, he was employed at Northern Essex Community College maintaining the building and grounds. James was a longtime member of Country Pond Fish and Game Club in Newton, NH. He was a sportsman and loved the outdoors. James enjoyed hunting with his dog. He had a passion for history and anything involving our country's past, especially relating to America's military. He was a loving husband and father and cherished time spent with his family and friends.

He is survived by his children David Yurik and his wife Cheryl of Brentwood, NH, and Michelle Hennessey of Haverhill, MA, his grandchildren Alyssa Cook and her partner Robert Boisclair Jr., Cameron Yurik, Madison Marriott and Emma Marriott, his great grandchildren Robert Boisclair III and Hunter Leatham.

James was sadly predeceased by his grandson Christopher Cook and his brother Gerald Yurik.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life, Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 2pm – 6pm at the Kingston VFW Post -1088 93 NH Rt 125, Kingston, NH. His burial will be held on May 19. 2023 at 9am at the NH State Veteran Cemetery, 110 Webster Highway, Boscawen NH 03303.
