Obituary

Atkinson, NH: James F. "Butch" Peters III (1954-2025): He was born in Peabody Massachusetts and was the son of the late Shirley (Blais) Hutchinson and James F. Peters II. Butch passed away suddenly on December 19, 2025, in Derry, NH while surrounded by his loved ones.

Butch was a devoted husband, father and grandfather whose life centered on his family. He provided them with unwavering support, countless lessons in hard work and integrity.

He built his career in the automotive business owning several successful entities in various states under the names of Westcorp Auto, Merrimac Recyclers, and Anchor Used Auto Parts just to name a few. Most of the time Butch could be found working outside and alongside his employees with whom he also considered family. He had a love for his front-end loader and the task of crushing cars. He took great pride in the beauty of his fleet and the front lawn of his home.

Butch was fond of the seasons on Lake Winnipesaukee and enjoyed both boating and snowmobiling. For many years, he enjoyed plowing for the Town of Atkinson while under the direction of Ted Stewart. Butch had a passion for playing electronic solitaire and watching MeTV when life held him back.

Although he took pride in his work, his greatest achievement was the family he had created and the loving home and the support he provided for his wife Kathy and their children, Niki Sampaio, James (Jake) Peters IV, Lexi Peters and Maci Peters.

He was a proud and loving Papa to Jayce Acevedo, Aleena Sampaio, Callie and Mia Michaels and Christopher Laforge Jr, his son-in-law to Antonio Sampaio, Jasmine Peters, Cody Michaels and Chris Laforge. He also leaves behind his siblings Deborah Hachey (MA), Irene Olson (FL), LeeAnn Hutchinson (MA), Renee Hutchinson (NH), Michael Hutchinson (MA) and John Hutchinson (MA) He will be sadly missed by brothers-in- law James Blaney, Frank Toomey and unofficially adopted son Everson Lockhart, the employees that became family and his many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

He was sadly predeceased by his brothers Carl and Brian Hutchinson and his sister Priscilla Westaway.
