January 29, 1957 – September 24, 2017
Kingston: James Mansfield, 60, of Kingston, NH, son of Elmer and Sheila (Kelly) Mansfield of Groveland, MA. Passed away after a long battle with cancer on September 24, 2017. Born January 29, 1957, James grew up in Groveland, MA, and attended Whittier Vocational Technical High School. James joined the army in 1976 where he served as a combat engineer until he was honorably discharged. James was a dedicated husband, son, father, brother, and friend. He was employed most recently at Shea Concrete, where he ran the batch plant, and was dedicated to his work. Always working with his hands, "Jim" could build, fix, or drive, anything with a motor.
James will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Virginia "Ginny" Mansfield, and is survived by his daughter Megan Cloutier, and her husband Gregory of Kingston. He was predeceased by his son Luke Mansfield in 2008. He is survived by brothers Michael Mansfield, and William Mansfield, also his sister Jane Mansfield. He is predeceased by his sister Joan (Mansfield) Dalton , and his brother Robert Mansfield. James leaves his three loving grandchildren Galvin Raymond James Miller, Luke Gregory Cloutier, and Eliza Frances Cloutier.
An avid motorcyclist, James loved riding with his bride Ginny. He loved music, and he played the guitar. He attended numerous concerts with the love of his life Ginny. Together, they camped, fished, enjoyed racing and took many trips around the country. Jim loved the Red Sox, the Patriots, and even gardening! Not one to be beaten, James tried every year to grow watermelons, coming closer every year, to a successful crop.
Family and friends of James may call on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 5 to 8:00 pm at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home , 116 Main Street Plaistow, NH, with a funeral service the following day, Friday September 29, 2017 at 9:00am, at St. Luke the Evangelist Parish at Holy Angels church, in Plaistow, NH. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that people consider a donation in James name to St Luke food Pantry at Holy Angels , 8 Atkinson Depot Rd , Plaistow , N.H. 03865, where Ginny has been a volunteer and James had also been one years earlier .
