Bradford: James R. Gablosky, 57, a resident of the Bradford section of Haverhill, died April 4, 2023, at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton.
Born in Haverhill, son of Regina A. (Berry) Gablosky and the late Odelmer R. "Dick" Gablosky, Jim was raised and educated in Hampstead and graduated from Pinkerton Academy with the Class of 1983. He was an Eagle Scout and member of the Hampstead Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He later relocated to the Leesburg, Florida area and was trained as a medical assistant. He was employed as a Phlebotomist by local healthcare facilities in the Leesburg area.
Returning to the area several years ago, Jim lived mostly in the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire vicinity. Jim enjoyed music, especially singing and was a paid, as well as a volunteer soloist for weddings, funerals and weekend Masses at several churches, including, Saint Anne's Parish of Hampstead, Saint Joseph Parish of Epping, and Saint Lucy's Parish in Methuen, MA.
An accomplished artist in oils, Jim was a longtime member of the Greater Haverhill Arts Association. He also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his mother, Regina (Berry) Gablosky of Fremont, NH, a brother and sister-in-law, Patrick J. "P.J." and Irene Gablosky of Fremont, a sister, Frances McAneney, of Derry, NH his partner, John Riley of Bradford, a niece, Stephanie Gablosky and nephews, Tim Gablosky, Kevin McAneney and Dr. Demitrius Washington, and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins. In addition to his father, Jim is predeceased by a nephew, Shawn McAneney.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours to be held on Wednesday morning, April 19, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Saint Anne's Church, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the church and followed by burial in Holy Angels Cemetery, East Road, Plaistow, NH. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023. Merrifield, VA 22116, or to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
