Plaistow: James M. Clifford, 64, a resident of Plaistow since 1986, died Thursday evening at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Brighton, following an extended illness and surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Haverhill, MA, son of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Richard) Clifford, he attended Haverhill schools and was a member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1967. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a radio operator and sergeant, and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Honor Medal 2nd Class.
Mr. Clifford was an avid fan of all Boston and New England sports teams and enjoyed the times that he spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Kathryn (Bombard) Clifford, two daughters, Lynn M. Clifford and her fianc� Mark Kingman of Andover, MA, and Lisa J. Mitchell and her husband John of Haverhill, three brothers, David Clifford of Atkinson, Robert Clifford of Whitfield, and Stephen Clifford of Haverhill, MA, two sisters, Patricia Arsenault of Barrington and Ann Mary Clifford of Salisbury, MA, and several nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Daniel in 2006.
