Jacques Aquillon, 93, longtime resident of Hampstead, NH, and formally Atkinson, NH passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6 ^th , 2023 at Exeter Hospital.

So eager to be born, on February 23, 1929 Jacques arrived at seven months in his home in St Imier, Switzerland to Marcelle (Bernel) and Charles Albert Aquillon. The family moved to Geneva a few years later where he spent his childhood. After WWII the family immigrated to the United States.

Jacques graduated from Tufts University. He then went on to serve in the US Army during the Korean conflict. During this period he received his citizenship.

Jacques married the love of his life, Louise Gorman in 1955 and shared 67 wonderful years of marriage raising two beloved daughters, Claudine and Danielle.

Jacques worked at Western Electric / AT&T / Lucent Technologies for over 30 years, retiring as a senior engineer. Active in his professional society, he served a term as President of the local chapter of ASQ. Jacques was also a Master Mason for 60 years at Saggahew Lodge, Haverhill, MA. Jacques also loved to bowl and was a member of multiple leagues.

He enjoyed a long and fulfilling retirement. Many happy hours were spent with his best friend "John Deere" landscaping his home, driving his Studebaker Hawk, mall walking with friends, summers in northern NH, traveling to Europe, and RVing through the contiguous US, Alaska, and Canadian providences.

Most special of all to Jacques was the birth of his Grandson Nicholas. They forged a special unbreakable bond.

After a long period of ill health, Jacques spent his final days in loving care by the staff at Exeter Hospital where he entered Eternity in peace.

His family and friends will always remember Jacques (aka "Honey", "Dad", and "Zaza") as an honest and caring man, faithful husband, and loving father and grandfather.

Jacques is survived by his wife, his two daughters, and his beloved grandson. Jacques also leaves behind a nephew, Phillip and nieces Michelle, Linda, and Christine.

In addition to his parents, Jacques was predeceased by his sister Josette and her husband Alden.

There will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
