Jacqueline (L'Heureux) Grondin, 94, of Plaistow, NH, died peacefully on Monday, February 19, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Jacquie was born in Quebec City, Canada on July 4, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Hector and Aurore (Ledoux) L'Heureux. She immigrated to the United States in 1951 along with her husband, the late Remi Grondin, who passed away in 1980. The couple lived in Detroit, Chicago, and Pittsburgh before finally settling in Plaistow in 1967. Though she later lived in Florida and Maine at various points, Plaistow remained her home.

She was employed as the French translator for the Montréal division of Lady Finelle Cosmetics in Lawrence, MA for many years, and later worked in fine jewelry sales. Stylish and impeccably dressed, Jacquie was an accomplished pianist who enjoyed dancing, gardening, completing crossword puzzles in French, and traveling throughout Europe, Mexico, Canada, and much of the United States.

Above all, Jacquie was devoted to her family. She is survived by her children, Michael Grondin and his wife, Maryanne of Plaistow, NH, and Patricia (Grondin) Handyside of Eliot, ME; her grandchildren Shawn Handyside, Sarah (Handyside) Daily, Nicholette (Grondin) Catalano, and Jesse Grondin; her great-grandchildren Chloe, Avery and Dylan Catalano, Sophie Handyside, Calvin and Nathaniel Daily, Emma Grondin, and Victoria Bertholdt; her siblings Maurice L'Heureux and Margo (L'Heureux) St. Jacques, both of Quebec City, Canada; and her 23 year old cockatiel, Cookie. She was predeceased by her brother, Jack L'Heureux.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 12pm at Saint Anne Parish, 26 Emerson Ave., Hampstead, NH. Interment will be held privately.
