Haverhill: Irene F. (Tuminowski) Stapinski, 94, a resident of Haverhill for the last seventy years, died Sunday June 5, 2022 at the Holy Family-Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.
Born, raised and educated in Methuen, she was the daughter of the late William and Josephine (Zawalich) Tuminowski. She was a member of the former Holy Trinity Parish of Lawrence and attended Methuen Public Schools, graduating from Searles High School with the Class of 1945.
Mrs. Stapinski was employed at Western Electric Company as a young woman and later worked in the food service department for the City of Haverhill School Department at the Hannah Dustin School and Haverhill High School.
She was a member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the Ladies of Saint Anne Society and the St. Vincent de-Paul Society of the parish, as well as a member of the former Saint Joseph Parish and the former Saint Michael's Parish.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs. Stapinski created a warm and loving home for her family and enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, crocheting and ceramics. She also enjoyed playing cards, going out dancing with her late husband Edward, as well as the trips that they took together across the globe, including, Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and the United States.
Predeceased in 2004 by her loving and devoted husband of fifty-five years, Edward M. Stapinski, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen E. and Patricia Stapinski of Andover, a daughter, Elaine M. Stapinski of Haverhill, a grand-daughter, Diana M. Arzeno and her husband Carlos of Andover, grandchildren Luca and Nico Arzeno, two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Tuminowski of Methuen, and Irene Stapinski of Jersey City, NJ, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Edward, Henry, Alfred, Leonard and Walter Tuminowski.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill and followed by burial in Saint Patrick's Cemetery.
