Fournier
February 8, 1930 – May 2, 2024
Plaistow – Ignatius A. "Pete" Fournier, 94, passed away Thursday May 2, 2024, at the Exeter Hospital following a brief illness.
Born February 8, 1930, in Laconia, NH, he was the son of the late Adrian Fournier and Laura (Ouellette) Dumas.
Mr. Fournier served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, and later worked as a part time police officer for the Plaistow Police Department from 1955 to 1980 and worked as a mechanic for Marble Motors for thirty-six years. He was a member of the American Legion Carl Davis Post, and the Teamsters Union Local 437.
In his free time Pete enjoyed riding his motorcycle, snowmobiling, working around his house, and playing cards with his Legion friends. He enjoyed going for rides in the car along the beaches and going out to eat seafood. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Members of his family include his daughter Linda Comeau and husband Gregory of Plaistow, NH; his two grandsons Nicholas Comeau and wife Caitlin, and Major Christopher Comeau (USMCR) and wife Mary Katherine, as well as his great grandchildren Colin, Eva, and Mary Claire, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife Ruth (Bassett) Fournier in 1973, and his second spouse Brenda (Aldrich) Fournier in 2009, his son Robert Fournier in 2012, and four siblings Lucille Loos, Andrew Fournier, Ursula Goyette and Lorraine Huntley.
Family and friends may visit Thursday May 9, 2024, from 4PM – 7PM at the Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will begin Friday at 9AM at the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Holy Angels Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, 8 Atkinson Depot Rd, Plaistow, NH, with burial to follow in the Maplewood Cemetery in Plaistow.
