Hugh "Bud" Wizst, age 78 of Haverhill, passed away on January 24, 2016 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston following complications from a heart attack. He was born on January 16, 1938 in Camden, NJ the son of Hugh Wizst, Jr. and Florence Wizst. He was raised and educated in Southern NJ.
Bud began his career in the food service industry in the Philadelphia area and relocated his family to Chelmsford, MA in 1970. He worked for KPI Bradco in sales and as a sales manager for 30 years. In his retirement, Bud worked as a ranger at a few local golf courses, most recently at Crystal Springs in Haverhill.
Bud loved spending time with his family and friends, especially with his grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing, barbecuing, working in his yard and travelling.
He was predeceased by his wife, June M. (LeRiche) Wizst in 2013. He is survived by his sons; Darin H. Wizst and wife, Jennifer of Westford, MA, Brian R. Wizst of Haverhill, MA, Kevin W. Wizst of Santa Clara, CA. His step-son, Alexander M. Scalisi and wife, Lindsay of Mill Valley, CA. His step-daughters, Jill M. Scalisi of Rye Brook, NY and Tina M. (Scalisi) Bonnell of Lexington, MA. His nine grandchildren, Kyle Wizst, Sarah Wizst, Allison Wizst, Alexandra Foley, Tommy Foley, Jack Scalisi, Dylan Bonnell, Quinn Bonnell and Anastasia Scalisi.
Family and friends are invited to attend Bud's Life Celebration on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 4-8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street (Rt. 121A), Plaistow, NH 03865. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10 AM. Burial in Atkinson Cemetery will take place in the spring.
