Helen J. (Rosadowski) Bouvier
Sunrise 11/01/30 – Sunset 10/21/22
In the early hours of Friday, October 21, Helen passed peacefully in her sleep at Mary Immaculate Nursing and Restorative Center in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She is deeply loved and sorely missed by her family.
Born in Exeter, N.H. on November 1, 1930, Helen was one of two children born to her Polish immigrant parents, Joseph and Mary Rosadowski.
Helen had many fond memories of her childhood, including sneaking out to the beach with her friend Kiki, attending Camp Hiawatha, and picking mushrooms behind Phillips Academy with her father on Sunday mornings. As the only member of her family to earn a driver's license, she would often pack a picnic lunch and take her family sightseeing on the weekends.
Helen attended Saint Michael grammar school, where she consistently received awards of $1 given by priests for earning straight A's. She was also a graduate of Robinson Seminary in Exeter, N.H. Helen attended Boston Nursing School but left during her first year and was unable to finish her degree. Her father became severely ill and she stayed home to work and help care for him during his last months of life.
After waitressing for a few years, Helen eventually found her calling in the meat packing department at First National, pioneering and educating others on new packing methods still practiced today.
When she was 29, Helen met her husband, Lucien Bouvier. During their 52 years of marriage, Helen was a devout mother and homemaker. She took pride in cooking meals, especially those based on her Polish heritage.
Helen enjoyed swimming, knitting, crossword puzzles, and her weekly visits to Kathy's Beauty Nook in Haverhill, MA, where she would catch up and gossip with friends. In addition, she always looked forward to her lunchtime shopping trips with her best friend and sister-in-law, Jackie Bouvier. They spent many hours talking, laughing and having fun. In later years, the grandchildren would come along on their trips. The Rockingham Mall in Salem N.H. was a favorite place.
Helen is survived by her children Sheila Kenyon and husband Raymond, Michael Bouvier, Christine Massa and husband Nicholas, Gabrielle Bevilacqua and husband Francis, Brian Bouvier and fiancé Kathleen Brochu Enright, Jeffrey Bouvier and wife Kelly, and Andrea Harper and husband Woody; grandchildren Katelyn, Michael, Shana, Anthony, Ariel, Trevor, Patrick, Andrew, Curtis, Kendra, Alex, and Madison; great-grandchildren Thomas, Bryan, and Cayden; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was predeceased by her loving husband, Lucien L. Bouvier, and her sister Wanda Magoon.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all of the caring staff members at Mary Immaculate, for making Helen feel at home during her stay.
