Sandown, NH: H. Elaine (Farnham) Garvey, 97 a resident of Sandown, NH for the past 45 years, died peacefully in her home on July 21, 2021.

Elaine was born in Lawrence, MA and grew up in North Andover, MA. She was the daughter of the late Houghton and Helen (Bottomley) Farnham, and graduated from Johnson High School. She then attended Lawrence General School of Nursing, becoming a licensed practical nurse. Elaine married her high school sweetheart, the late Edward C. Garvey, upon his return from World War II military service. They were happily married for sixty-one years, raising two daughters and three sons and welcoming ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren into their lives.

Elaine and Ed raised their children while she worked as a nurse at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen and as a real estate broker. In 1976 she and Ed relocated to Sandown, NH. Elaine was active in the Friends of the Library and other Sandown civic organizations.

Elaine enjoyed square dancing with the Rocketeers Square Dance Club, traveling, sewing, cooking, reading and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  They always looked forward to their grandmother's cookies or other culinary treats.  Thanksgivings, Christmas Eves and birthdays were often celebrated at Elaine's house so she could be with her grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Patch of Micco, FL, son Edward Garvey and his wife Patricia of Ione, CA, son John Garvey and his wife Valerie of Chester, NH, son Thomas Garvey and his wife Coann of Alpine, CA and daughter E. Christine Roy of Sandown. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Jerel Patch, Shannon Patch, Leanne Paul, Laura Reinholdt, Suzanne Anderson, Jennifer Garvey, Kimberly Feugill, Stacy Merriam, Mark Garvey and Julie Garvey, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow. Her funeral service will follow at 4:15 p.m. Burial in Center Cemetery, Sandown, NH will take place on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 @ 1 PM.
