Obituary

East Kingston, NH: Gordon T. Watkins, 75, of East Kingston, and formerly of Plaistow, died July 29, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born, raised and educated in Daysland, Province of Alberta, Canada, he was the son of the late Richard and Jessie (Cheshire) Watkins, and graduated Camrose, Alberta High School.

Mr. Watkins worked as an associate engineer first at telephone companies in Canada and was later employed locally by Verizon until his retirement in 2012.

A resident of Plaistow from 1987 until he moved to East Kingston in 2012, Mr. Watkins was a coach for the Timberlane Tornadoes football team for ten years and later served for several years as the equipment manager for the team.  He also enjoyed skiing, cruising and travels to the western part of the country. He was also a history buff and enjoyed touring museums.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of forty-six years, Donna (MacLean) Watkins, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael T. Watkins of Philidelphia, PA, and Steven D. and Amanda Watkins of Plaistow, a grand-daughter, MacKayla Watkins of Plaistow, a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Duncan McNeill of Alberta, two brothers, Kenneth Watkins of British Columbia and Lawrence Watkins of Alberta. He was predeceased by his brother, Morris Watkins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mr. Watkins Life Celebration to be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St. Plaistow. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to: American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St. Suite 501, Boston, MA or to The American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD.
