Gordon F. Nye, Jr., 70, of Methuen and a former resident of Danville, NH, died January 18, 2018 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA.

Born in Providence, RI, son of Louise (Maxwell) Nye and the late Gordon F. Nye, he graduated from East Providence High School and received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Rhode Island and later his Master's Degree from Northeastern University in Boston.

Mr. Nye was employed as an electrical engineer at Western Electric Co., A T & T Technologies and Lucent Technologies., for many years until his retirement.

Mr. Nye enjoyed playing pool at the Crow's Nest in Plaistow as well as in several tournaments. He was a resident of Bonita Springs, Florida from 2015 until 2017 where he made many friends and also organized a social group called "Happy Hour".  He touched many lives in the short period of time that he lived in Florida.

A devoted grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his two grandchildren as much as possible.  He often attended their sporting events and enjoyed spending time swimming in the pool with them.

Predeceased by his wife Cyndi A. (O'Connor) Nye in 2004, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his mother, Louise (Maxwell) Nye of Providence, two daughters and sons-in-laws, Christine L.(Nye) and Marty G. Lewis of Raymond, NH, and Katherine (Nye) and Gualter Resende of Methuen, a son Joshua N. Nye of Atkinson, NH, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherill and Bryan Letourneau of Seekonk, MA, and Lois and Rann Hannagan of Naples, FL, a brother John F. Nye of Rhode Island, grandchildren Anderson Resende and Tyler Carrien, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mr. Nye's Life Celebration to be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.
