Kingston, NH:  Gertrude J. (Southwick) Buswell, 78, of Kingston, NH and formerly of Plaistow, NH died on December 5, 2017 at her home.

Born in Lynn, MA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Thelma (Caron) Southwick.  As a child, she moved to Kingston and attended Sanborn Seminary, graduating with the Class of 1956 and later attended Fazio School of Beauty in Lawrence, MA.

Mrs. Buswell worked as a Hairdresser and established her own salon in Kingston, NH.  She later worked as a Kindergarten Teacher and finally as a real estate agent at Kingston Real Estate Company for fifteen years. For the last forty years she  co-owned and operated Country Shores Camping Ground, of Kingston serving as Secretary and Treasurer.

A longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Plaistow, Mrs. Buswell was an avid cook, and also enjoyed camping, spending winters in Largo, Florida for the last several years, and traveling. The most important time was spending vacations and Sunday afternoons at Country Pond with her family.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Lawrence A. "Joe" Buswell; son, Lawrence A. "Larry" Buswell, Jr. of Kingston; daughter, Lori A. Buswell and her longtime companion, Thomas Parker of Kingston and daughter, Lynda Mailhot and her husband, Walter of Plaistow; brother, Peter Southwick of Florida;  sister, Priscilla Southwick of Kingston; eight grandchildren, Melanie, David, Jeannie, Jesse, Samantha, Maggie, Margie and Millie; six great-grandchildren, Taylor, Abby, Jackson, Maddie, Riley and Max; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was pre-deceased by a brother, Ralph Southwick, Jr.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, 122 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Following the service, the family will receive relatives and friends in Colcord Hall at the church.  Donations may be made to the Dana Farber/NH Oncology & Hematology, 44 Buttrick Road, Londonderry, NH 03053.
