Gerald "Gerry" Raymond Carbone, 81, of Kingston, husband of Joanne H. Carbone, passed away on May 29, 2023.
Born in Haverhill, MA on March 20, 1942, he was the son of late Dena (DiPietro) & Raymond Carbone Sr. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1960 and attended Lowell Tech, graduating with an Electrical Engineering degree.
Gerry had an early and ongoing passion for cars. He worked for Jaffarian Volvo and raced for them at Lime Rock Park and Thompson Speedway. He held the New England Class B Sedan Championship for a couple of years. He owned the car dealership Gerry Carbone's 125 Sales in Plaistow and he was always known for and lovingly teased for changing his car every 3-6 months. He wanted to try them all. He especially loved Ferrari's. He was continuously learning, becoming a licensed fishing captain and self-taught amateur photographer.
He made many life-long friends and in the last number of years was one to say "I'll be at the Restaurant" also known as the Kingston 1686 House where he would dine with Joanne and all his buddies. He was a long-time fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and Bruins, as well as Formula One racing. He was a member of Country Pond Fish and Game Club.
He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and son.
Surviving him, in addition to his wife, are his children, Christine Carbone (Lou Clark) of Portsmouth, Steven Carbone of Dover, and Andrea Comeau (Michael) of Atkinson; grandsons, Erik and Nicholas Comeau of Atkinson and Drew and Colin Royle of Farmington and Portsmouth; a brother Raymond Carbone Jr. (Rose Wingo) of Steuben, ME; step-children, Colleen (Thomas) Seelen and John (Tracy) Halpin; step-grandchildren, Emily and Samantha Seelen and Kevin and Keighly Halpin.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, June 1, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Brookside Chapel Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH.
Funeral services and interment will be held privately.
