Obituary

Hampstead, NH:  George Eastman Stokinger, 69, a resident of Hampstead since 1979, died Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Boston Medical Center, following a brief illness.

Born in Boston, son of the late John and Ruth (Eastman) Stokinger, he was raised and educated in Belmont, graduating from Belmont High School with the Class of 1969. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1975 from Northeastern University and served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1970 until 1976.

George had a long career in accounting while also serving as assistant treasurer and treasurer of the Timberlane and Hampstead School Districts from 1979 to 2003, which led to 14 years as Business Administrator of SAU 55 until his retirement in 2017.

A member of the Minute Man Model A Club of Sudbury and the Lakes Region Model A Club of Ossipee, NH, George proudly owned and maintained three antique Ford automobiles and enjoyed touring all over New England with his wife, Deborah by his side. They also shared an interest in trains and a love of spending time with their children at their ski house in East Burke Vermont, as well as biking, kayaking and hiking the White Mountains.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of forty-five years, Deborah S. (Randall) Stokinger, a son, Jason R. Stokinger and his wife, Jaclyn M. Parks of Watertown, MA, a daughter, Liz R. Wehmeyer and her husband, Keith of Intervale, a brother, John "Jack" Stokinger and his wife, Jo Johnson of Harpswell, ME, a grand-daughter, Ellie R. Wehmeyer, his large extended family, and he was eagerly awaiting the birth of his first grandson.
