Atkinson, NH: George W. Sanborn, 87, a resident of Atkinson, died May 27, 2017 at Salemhaven in Salem NH.
Born, raised and educated in Melrose, Massachusetts, son of the late Harold and Alice (Brook) Sanborn, he graduated from Essex Agricultural and Technical High School in Hawthorne, MA. He served in the Army National Guard as a Corporal from 1950 until 1956.
He was a resident of the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire for several years.
Mr. Sanborn worked as a pasteurizer at Danvers State Hospital and in the production department of Reddi-Whip in Boston. He also was employed at Servomation Vending and Refreshments, Inc., servicing parts of western Massachusetts and the Merrimack Valley for thirty-two years until his retirement.
A resident of Canaan NH for twenty-seven years, Mr. Sanborn worked as a school bus driver and was a longtime member and Past-President of the Canaan Lions Club. He returned to the Atkinson area in 2013 and was a member of the Atkinson Lions Club.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of sixty-five years, Gloria A. (Frasco) Sanborn, a son and daughter-in-law, Steven W. and Carol Sanborn of Haverhill, grandchildren Brianna (Sanborn) Powell and her husband Sam, and Timothy Sanborn and his wife Kelly, a brother Fred Sanborn of Auburn,, Maine, great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Grace and Kathryn and Ethan. He was predeceased by his son Allen W. Sanborn in 2007.
Relatives and friends are invited to his graveside service to be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. in Riverbank Cemetery, Stowe, Vermont.
