Obituary


: George G. Hamor, age 77 of Newton, New Hampshire and Sarasota, Florida, died October 19, 2015 in Florida.

Raised in Beverly, MA, the son of the late George and Annette (Tremblay) Hamor, he was a graduate of the Claude H. Patten Trade School at Beverly High School. In his youth he was involved in stock car racing at West Peabody Speedway and honorably served his country as a member of the National Guard.

Mr. Hamor was employed as an auto mechanic at Britton Volkswagen in
Beverly, MA., and later at Snow Motors in Groveland, MA., and finally at Clark Motors Methuen Mass., until his retirement. He enjoyed boating on Country Pond and the Merrimac River.

The husband of the late Sandra (Sheppard) Hamor, he is survived by his siblings, and spouses Nancy and Francis Courchene, William and Carrol Hamor, Peter and Carol Hamor, all of Beverly, Connie and Robert Truesdale of Houston, TX, and brother-in-law Donald Browning of Essex, MA, three sons, Mark, Jeffrey and Donald Hamor, and stepson Jay Montoni and his wife Carol of Newton, NH. He was predeceased by his brother John Hamor, sister Beverly Browning, and stepdaughter Lisa Stevens.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 11a.m. in Willow Grove Cemetery, Whittier Street, Newton Junction, NH. Arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main ST, Plaistow, NH. Donations in Mr. Hamor's name may be made to The American Heart Association, 2 Wall St, #104, Manchester, NH or to NH SPCA, P.O.Box 196, 104 Portsmouth Avenue, Stratham, NH.
