Obituary


George C. Gallo, Sr. was born in Columbia, South Carolina, on December 19, 1938. He was the beloved husband of Natalie Ann Gallo for fifty-five years. George died peacefully in his home on Monday, September 14th. He is survived by his sons, George C., Jr., and Glenn, his daughter-in-law Diane, and granddaughter, Madeline Estelle Gallo. George was brought up in Belfast, Maine, and graduated from Xavier Military Academy in New York City. He furthered his education at New York University, with a major in music.

George was employed at Cole Hersee Company, South Boston, Massachusetts, for forty-four years, where he served as Administrative Manager. George was active in scouting when his sons were young. The family loved to camp and enjoyed nature walks, boating and fishing. He was a devoted volunteer to the Unitarian Universalist Church in Exeter, New Hampshire. He was an active member of his church and served in the volunteer capacity for many years. Georg had also been a Trustee of the Trust Funds in Hampstead, New Hampshire.

George was a devoted father and loyal husband. He was particularly proud of his granddaughter, Madeline, and considered her his "little love".

Classical music was his life's focus, and brought him much enjoyment. Dedication to family, church, his work, music and animals was the enrichment of his life. George is also survived by his special pal, Casey, a Cocker Spaniel.

There are no calling hours. Burial will be private at the request of the family. Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street (Rt. 121A). Plaistow, NH 03865 is entrusted with Mr. Gallo's arrangements.
