Obituary


Charlotte, NC. George R. Duff. 89, a resident of Charlotte since 2006 and a former longtime resident ofHaverhill, MA, died June 6, 2012 at his home.



Born and raised in Haverhill, son of the late Alphonse and Emilie (Peppin) Duff, he graduated the former Haverhill Trade School with the Class of 1941. He later received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Merrimack College in 1970.



Mr. Duff was employed in the manufacturing of ship instruments for several years at Henschel Corp., formerly of Amesbury.



A member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the former Saint Joseph Parish, he was a master carpenter, specializing in cabinet making and finish carpentry and completed the building of his former home on Altamont St. He also enjoyed golfing in his younger years.



The husband of Antoinette (Bouvier) Duff, who died in October of 2006, he is survived by his daughter, Dr. Denise Cassani, MD and her husband John of Indian Land, SC, three grand-daughters, Carisa Cassani, Lisa Cassani-Trammell, and Teresa Cassani-Danner, and several nieces and nephews.



Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, June 29, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at BERUBE-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10a.m. in All Saints Church, Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery. Donations in his name may be made to The American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA.
