Obituary


Derry: Fred E. Ingerson,Jr. 87, of Derry and formerly of Boston, died peacefully Friday, July 1, 2016, surrounded by his loving family, at the family home on Highland Lake in Stoddard, NH.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 3, 1928, he was the son of the late Fred E. and Helen (Ropp) Ingerson. He served as a Corporal in the U.S.Army during W.W.II and received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal.

Mr. Ingerson received his engineering degree and was a licensed plumber, electrician and welder and was employed for thirty years at Middlesex Welding Supply and was also a welding instructor at Whittier Regional Vocational and Technical High School in Haverhill.

An avid guitarist, singer and songwriter, his passions were gardening, hunting and fishing. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time at Highland Lake with family and friends.

He is survived by three daughters, Susan Kay and her husband George of Danville, Joyce Ingerson and her partner Kevin Fortin of Plaistow, and Joanne Lewis and her husband Mark of Bradenton, Florida, three sisters, Rita Decosta and Carol Merlo of Avon, MA and Mary Lou LaCount of Dracut, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Janet (Ingerson) McBride, and brothers Vaughn and Bobby Ingerson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Life Celebration to be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow. His funeral service will take place on Thursday at 10a.m. at the funeral home. A private family burial service will take place in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. Donations in his name may be made to Plaistow Community YMCA, 175 Plaistow Road, Plaistow, NH.
